The “Temple groups” are rushing to conclude biblical rites permitting mass incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and are preparing to demolish the Dome of the Rock Mosque to erect the so-called “Third Temple.”
These extremist religious groups plan to sacrifice a “red cow” on the Mount of Olives in occupied Jerusalem, opposite the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on April 10, 2024, which coincides with Eid al-Fitr this year, in an try to purify oneself with his ashes.
Preparations and Religious Conferences
In recent days, a congress was held to examine preparations for the sacrifice of the red heifer on the Mount of Olives, followed by its cremation and the mixing of its ashes in the waters of the spring of Siloam, allegedly for the purification of the Jews of the “defilement of the dead”.
Approximately 100 rabbis from various religious groups participated in this congress in the colony of “Shilo the Old”.
Government Support and Criticism
The red cow, flown in from Texas in September 2022, has the support of the Israeli government. Benjamin Netanyahu’s government continues to support the Red Cow Project, actively partaking in promoting the congress.
Uri Erlich of the “Emek Shaveh” organization strongly criticized these groups, accusing them of exploiting the conflict in Gaza to impose faits accomplis on Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, risking fueling a religious war.
Arab and Islamic Perspectives
Khaldoun Zabarqa, a specialist in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa affairs, stresses that these groups, with the support of extremist Christian sectors and new evangelists, seek an ideological and religious objective centred on the assault on Al-Aqsa and the construction of the Temple.
He cautions that the war on Gaza fits into this religious doctrine, seeking to accelerate end-time events.
Alarm and Call for Vigilance
The initiative to sacrifice the red cow and promote this ritual poses a grave threat, signalling a well-laid plan against the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Zabarqa calls for increased awareness and vigilance in the face of these developments, which risk transforming the conflict into a religious war on an unprecedented scale.
