Climate activist Greta Thunberg dismissed on Tuesday the recent climate change pledges by global leaders, saying that so far they have only been about talk and no action.
Speaking at the Youth4Climate Summit in Italy, Thunberg went further to say that the “intentional lack of action is a betrayal toward all present and future generations,” labelling the climate change targets that countries set themselves as “empty promises.”
On the other hand, Thunberg also tried to give a more positive message saying that it is still possible to turn the climate situation around and what is needed is a “constructive dialogue” and “immediate, drastic annual emission reductions.”
