Seven Tunisian universities are included in the “Times Higher Education 2025” ranking. These are the University of Tunis El Manar (501st), the University of Monastir (801st), the University of Sfax (801st), the University of Gabès (1001st), the University of Carthage (1001st), the University of Sousse (1001st) and the University of Tunis (1001st).
The University of Tunis El Manar is placed first in the Maghreb in five disciplines and ranked first in Tunisia and the Maghreb in six disciplines, namely Economics and Management, Engineering, Medicine and Health, Computer Science, Biology, Life and Earth Sciences and Physical Sciences.
Globally, the University of Tunis El Manar ranks 568th on average in these six disciplines. It should be mentioned that the Times Higher Education ranking by discipline is based on five main criteria: teaching, research, academic citations, international openness and collaboration with industry. These criteria are adapted to each discipline to reflect the unique priorities and challenges of each field.
