Tokyo Olympics won’t be held if athletes can’t come – official

The Tokyo Olympics can’t be held if no athletes can make it to Japan, Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee President Seiko Hashimoto stated on Friday.

The official asserted that a decision on whether to host the games depends on changing factors like the coronavirus pandemic, adding that the committee will comply if the authorities and the International Olympic Committee decide the event cannot be held.
