United States President Donald Trump has once taken a step to pull the US out of the World Health Organization (WHO), signing an executive order shortly after returning to office.
This marks the second time Trump has terminated Washington’s relationship with the organization, repeating his concerns over financial disparities. Trump claimed the US had contributed $500 billion to the WHO, far exceeding contributions from other nations. He noted that China paid only $39 billion despite having a larger population. Trump also criticized ex-President Joe Biden for rejoining the WHO during his term at the higher amount, suggesting the US could have returned for $39 billion instead.
