The criminal chamber specializing in terrorism cases issued its rulings late into the night in the case known as the conspiracy against state security, sentencing individuals involved to prison terms ranging from 13 to 66 years. This was confirmed by the first deputy public prosecutor of the Anti-Terrorism Judicial Pole to the TAP agency.
The court also ordered the immediate execution of sentences against the accused individuals still on the run.
Serious and multiple charges
According to the judicial official’s statements, the case implicates several accused, some of whom are in custody and others who are at large. The investigation revealed a series of acts considered to be extremely serious by the authorities, including:

Conspiracy against the internal and external security of the state;

Formation and membership in a terrorist organisation;

Incitement to civil war through the use of weapons;

Disturbance of public order, murders, looting, all within a terrorist context;

Attacks on food security and the environment.
These charges, according to the judges, represent a direct and organized threat to the foundations of the Tunisian state.
