Tunisia-2024 budget draft bill: Adoption of article relating to establishment of 4% tax on banks and insurance

The members of the House of Representatives of the People adopted an article related to the establishment of a provisional tax for the State budget for the years 2024 and 2025, as outlined in the 2024 finance law. The tax will be imposed on banks, financial institutions, and insurance and reinsurance establishments. It will be calculated at a rate of 4% of the corporate tax base, with a minimum of 10,000 Tunisian Dinars. The adoption of this article was supported by 119 votes in favor, with 2 abstentions and 1 vote against.
