Tunisia-3% fuel price increase in one shot

Tunisia increased fuel prices for the fourth time in 12 months on Monday in an effort to rein in its budget deficit, a policy change wanted by the country’s international lenders, the Energy Ministry said stated.

The price of a litre of gasoline will increase on Tuesday to 2.155 dinars from 2.095, the ministry said in a statement.

According to the same source, the prices will be from February 01, 2022, as follows:

  • Unleaded petrol: 2155 millimes (i.e. addition of 60 millimes per litre)
  • sulfur-free diesel: 1860 millimes (i.e. an increase of 55 millimes per litre)
  • Ordinary diesel: 1655 millimes (i.e. an increase of 50 millimes per litre)

After a little mathematical calculation, this is a 3% growth in the price of fuel in one shot.
