The president of the butchers’ chamber, Ahmed Laamiri formally denied the words of the dean of the veterinarians who stated that 30% of cattle are contaminated by tuberculosis. Laamiri believes that this announced rate is exempt.
He added that the slaughterhouses of the great Tunis and some governorates are maintained but there are some that are anarchic and could be spaces to slaughter cows with tuberculosis.
On the other hand, he asked the question of how a veterinarian can say that cattle meats are contaminated by tuberculosis, after cooking, and do not represent a danger to the health of the consumer.
