Tunisia-30 years in prison for drugs

The deputy secretary of the public prosecutor at the court of first instance in Kef, Faouzi Dhaouadi, noted on the dispute that sparked on social networks concerning three individuals who were reportedly condemned to 30 years in prison for possessing drugs..

Speaking on a private radio station, Dhaouadi stated that the people in question detained for a year and a half were not charged only with consumption. According to him, they were charged in accordance with article 52 of January 18, 1992, reporting to the allocation or use of space for exploitation for the consumption or trafficking of drugs.

He further added that the individuals used a sports ground in Kef for the consumption of narcotics, consequently the application of article 11 of the same law.
