On the 32nd anniversary of the Palestinian declaration of independence, Tunisia reaffirmed its solid position in the just Palestinian cause and its consideration for the heroic Palestinian people for their continued fight to recover their legitimate rights and establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, reads a statement by the Foriegn ministry.
Tunisia repeated its request to the Security Council and the international community to shoulder their responsibilities to terminate the misery of the unarmed Palestinian people.
It moreover urged them to defend their rights and react strongly against the settlement policy directed at imposing the policy of fait accompli, in infringement of UN resolutions and international law.
Tunisia warned against the continuation of the antagonistic practices of the occupier, reemphasising its support for the revival of a genuine peace process, in accordance with international resolutions and related references.
It hailed the efforts undertaken by the Palestinians to establish national reconciliation, considering that this is an indispensable measure for the unity of the internal front as well as for the interest of the Palestinian cause.
