The first pack of 33 Atlas Gazelles “Cuvier’s Gazelle” born in Tunisia between 2017 and 2019 was released in Jbel Essarj National Park, announced the Directorate General of Forests.
This herd is from the first pack of 43 gazelles, transported from Spain and put in shelters for a three-year adaptation project, the herd has reached 80 gazelles by now.
The resettlement project for the gazelles was managed in partnership between the Spanish National Research Council, the Tunisian Association of Wildlife and the Directorate General of Forests.
