Tunisia: 38 Chinese doctors will strengthen regional hospitals

Following the approval of a cooperation protocol by the parliament, Tunisia is set to greet four medical teams from China as part of an agreement between the two countries . The primary goal is to enhance the capacity of regional hospitals.

A total of 38 physicians with diverse specialities are anticipated to arrive in Tunisia shortly. They will be stationed at hospitals in Jendouba, Sidi Bouzid, and Gafsa, and some will contribute to the acupuncture department at the Mongi Slim Hospital. Further , part of their mission involves providing courses at various medical faculties across Tunisia, aligning with the terms outlined in the health cooperation protocol.

It’s noteworthy that this collaborative effort between Tunisia and China in the field of health has roots dating back to the 1970s. The long-standing partnership has been concentrated on the exchange of medical expertise between the two countries.
