The civil society components of Al-Amra, in partnership with some organizations from the delegations of Al-Amra and Jbeniana, organized today, Saturday, May 4, 2024, a march along the central road, voicing their rejecting the settlement of illegal migrants from sub-Saharan African countries, and demanding that the authorities uncover urgent solutions in light of the massive influx of irregular migrants in the region.
During the march, attended by hundreds of people, slogans were raised urging the immediate expulsion of irregular immigrants and affirming their refusal of what they saw as disparate solutions.
The participants of the march considered, in statements to the press, that today’s protest is a natural manifestation of the dangerous situation that Al-Amra has been undergoing for more than a year with a massive and incomprehensible influx of migrants irregulars coming from sub-Saharan African countries. This agricultural delegation has changed into a staging area for migrants, with the continued arrival of other numbers.
Participants in the protest criticized what they called meaningless slogans from some officials who claim the situation is under control and there is a solution shortly, highlighting that things have remained and that the number of irregular migrants has risen by the thousands since the last month of Ramadan.
Muhammad Benn Farah said that today’s march aims to convey the voice of the people of Al-Amra to all concerned and to alert of the imminent danger, adding that the march is a first step which will be followed by other steps, if a solution is not found.
He called, as a first step, to stop a new influx of irregular immigrants into the Al-Amra delegation and to gradually work to reduce their presence in the delegation.
He pointed out that Al-Amera is an irrigated agricultural area and that owners of agricultural land can no longer access their land and carry out agricultural work on it, and that greenhouses have been used as places for migrants to live. irregular.
For his part, Dhouha ben Said called on the President of the Republic to find urgent and radical solutions, particularly since the situation has become disastrous in the region at all levels: health, environmental, economic and social, a- she indicated.
