Tunisia: 50 irregular migrants rescued by Navy

The Ministry of Defense revealed that the naval units saved 38 Tunisian migrants on Wednesday who attempted to illegally cross borders.

These migrants were aboard a ship down northeast of Kelibia in the governorate of Nabeul.

They were moved to the port of Keibia where they will be handed over to the maritime unit under the National Guard.

Also, according to the same source, twelve other irregular migrants (11 Tunisians and an Egyptian), who took refuge in Miskar gas field following a breakdown of their boat, were likewise rescued by the navy units.

The same source adds that the latter had sailed from Zarzis during the same period, toward the European area.
