The situation continues to worsen in Tunisia. The country has accumulated peaks of contamination and daily deaths caused by the coronavirus.
The Minister of Religious Affairs, Ahmed Adhoum, indicated, this Saturday, October 24, that 73 cases of contamination by the Coronavirus were detected during the last period until last Friday among the executives of the mosques in a number of governorates, including Greater Tunis, Kairouan, Bizerte and Jendouba.
In a statement to the TAP , on the occasion of the opening of the 48th Mouled conference, organized remotely this year on October 24 and 25, the minister said that no mosque has been closed, to date, following these contaminations. “Mosques were closed for only one or two days, the time needed for disinfection before they reopened,” he said.
The 48th conference is organized on the theme “The Prophetic Approach to Crisis Management and its Impact on Reconciliation and Social Peace”.
The preventive measures adopted by the ministry, such as the suspension of Friday prayers and respect for health protocol (wearing a mask, individual prayer mat and physical distancing), explains Adhoum, are aimed at securing mosques and places of worship. in order to avoid their closure due to the proliferation of the pandemic.
