Tunisia-A case of contamination with the omicron variant identified in Mahdia

Samir Lahouel, regional director of health in the governorate of Mahdia, confirmed this Wednesday, December 29, 2021, that the first case of contamination with the Omicron variant was identified in the region. He is a citizen of the city of Chebba returning from Italy. Lahouel stated that the latter entered Tunisia by sea through the port of La Goulette.

 

He has completed his vaccination and has presented a negative result of a PCR test. He proceeded to a private laboratory in the town of Chebba to make sure. The analyzes confirmed that it is positive for the Omicron variant. He is currently in quarantine, the official added.
