The Public Prosecutor at the Tunis Court of First Instance authorized officers from the National Unit for Financial Crimes Investigations of the El Gorjeni Judicial Police Directorate to conduct required inquiries into suspicions of financial and administrative corruption in public contracts related to deep well drilling carried out by the Regional Agricultural Commission of Kasserine.

Following these investigations, the case was referred to the investigating judge at the Tunis Court of First Instance.
