Tunisia-A family receives an amputated leg instead of its deceased baby in Kef, the hospital supervisor clarifies

A family father in Kef unknowingly received an amputated leg rather than the body of his deceased baby. The family instantly resorted to social media to properly expose the scandal. The shocking photos generated anger and shock among Internet users.

In an official statement to “Tunisie Numérique”, Abdelatif Chbeb the hospital supervisor stated that the accident represents merely a “human error”. The source added that the local hospital had received, the day before, a decomposed body of an old man which was not autopsied.

He further indicated that an official inquiry would promptly be initiated to accurately determine the leading cause of this incident. Moreover,Information Officer at the  Ministry of Health, Chokri Nafti stated that morgues in public clinics don’t receive babies.
