Tunisia – Abbou: I have no intention of running for presidential elections

Poilictian Mohamed Abbou stated Thursday that “he will not partake in the next presidential elections because he has no chance of winning them and does not desire to lose his credibility,” remarking that the secretary general of the Republican Party, Issam Chebbi, is the candidate closest to him.

Abbou explained that “Issam Chebbi has an outstanding biography and is a person ready to live and die for the state,” voicing his “desire to see other candidates with these qualities.”

Abbou said that “he does not want to participate in the electoral race and does not intend to run for office,” emphasising that “he is now a free person who is not controlled by any party and does not “is disciplined only about Tunisia and its laws”. »
