Tunisia-Abdel Raouf Al-Saleh:We hope that 2024 will see qualitative shift in provision of public transportation [Statement]

Abdel Raouf Saleh, President and General Director of the Tunisian Transport Company Abdel Raouf Saleh, told Tunisie Numéerique on Friday, January 26, 2024, that stipulations and conditions have been set for the purchase of 175 new buses. Efforts are furthermore being made to ensure funding through talks with relevant authorities. He stressed that this process aligns with the country’s energy transition strategy.

In addition to the conventional buses, Saleh noted that a percentage of the new buses will be electric, reflecting a dedication to environmental sustainability and clean transportation practices.

The company is concurrently operating on the rehabilitation of metro cars to enhance services on various lines. Saleh underscored that the year 2024 marks a considerable shift in providing transportation services to citizens, with a focus on improving readiness, decreasing waiting times, and enhancing travel frequency.
