Tunisia-Abdelfattah Mourou: Rached Ghannouchi losing control over parliament

Former First Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People and past leader of Ennahdha Abdelfattah Mourou, stated yesterday that house speaker  Rached Ghannouchi had lost control over parliament and must find a way out of the various difficulties he faces.

“The house speaker must remain unbiased, his role is to guarantee a balance in Parliament,” he said.

He added that Ghannouchi is not very comfortable in this position as he is the topic of criticism and even ridicule concerning his dress style and the condition of his teeth. “I think right now he’s looking for a way out,” he declared.

Regarding the rejection of the President of the Republic to conclude the procedure for the appointment of new ministers, Abdelfattah Mourou estimated that Kaïs Saïed’s decision was based on a feeling of anger, adding that the Head of State shouldn’t, in any case, hamper the effectiveness of political decisions.
