Tunisia: Abdellatif Mekki calls for a two weeks lockdown

Speaking on a private radio, former Minister of Health  Abdellatif Mekki commented on the quickly growing epidemiological situation in the country. He declared that due to the decline of the health situation, it is important to institute a two weeks lockdown provided that this restrictive measure is followed by the establishment of a targeted one to curb the spread of the virus.

Mekki, accordingly, offered to place Covid-19 patients in isolation centres since self-containment was not sufficient enough. He likewise commented on the latest statements by Nissaf Ben Alaya emphasising that the health system has not collapsed, despite the difficulty of the current situation.
