Tunisia-Abdellatif Mekki recommends extension of Lockdown

Former health minister Abdellatif Mekki asserted that the length of the needed lockdown is not enough to limit the number of infections and deaths.
Mekki suggested, in this sense to extend the lockdown by two weeks to curb horizontal transmission of the virus, indicating that this new measure will not have the wanted effects without respecting the health protocol. As a result, he suggested establishing a communication strategy directed at coordinating between organizations, unions and the private sector to monitor compliance with the measures recommended by the scientific committee.
In the same context, Mekki revealed that the government, as well as the National Security Council, will be capable to mobilize all efforts to improve the health situation characterised by high horizontal transmission unlike the first wave of the coronavirus.
