Speaking at a press conference from the headquarters of the parliament, PDL leader Abir Moussi said Hichem Mechichi, in his capacity as interim interior minister, will have to answer citizens’ inquiries about the riots that have broken out in recent days.
Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the MP revealed that her party will recommend for this step to be done within the framework of the plenary session programmed for tomorrow, during which MPs will ask Mechichi to clearly respond to certain questions concerning the people behind acts of violence and vandalism committed by minors.
She called on the presidents of the parliamentary blocs to back her in this initiative, which will allow the Parliament to fully play its monitoring role. The MP also explained that the Mechichi administration has not been evaluated by the parliament since the confidence vote session, denouncing, to this effect, statements by Ennahdha and Qalb Tounes MPs who say oppositely.
