Tunisia-Acute hepatitis in children: Ministry of Health shares the list of symptoms

The Ministry of Health has revealed that it has been alerted by the World Health Organization (WHO) on the recording of cases of acute hepatitis of unknown source in children in the United States and other European countries. The ministry confirmed that its commission in charge of risk assessment constantly monitors the epidemic situation and takes all preventive measures at the national level.

According to the same source, the first cases of acute hepatitis were registered last October in the United Kingdom. The ministry has, in the same sense, shared the list of symptoms; diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain, respiratory symptoms and paleness.

It has correspondingly made a number of preventive measures available to citizens, which consist of:

• Ventilate the space and wear a mask for people over 6 years old
• Avoid kissing children
• Use a single-use tissue when coughing or sneezing
• Maintain hand, mouth, food and water hygiene and environmental cleanliness

The ministry called on citizens to go to a health facility or pursue medical attention if symptoms emerge.
