Tunisia-Adnan Bouassida: Municipalities are biggest electricity consumers

A study day organized by the National Federation of Tunisian municipalities to present the project “Energy efficiency in public buildings” took place on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in South Hammamet.

The president of the National Federation of Tunisian municipalities, Adnan Bouassida, highlighted in a declaration made to the Tunisie Numérique’s Correspondent in the region, that a municipal charter was launched for the protection of the climate and the control of energy.

Bouassida talked of the significance of the rationalization of energy, stating that “municipalities are the largest consumers of electricity, with around 294 million dinars per year, which represents around 30% of the municipal budget.

“It is therefore important to find new solutions and laws that save and guide energy consumption”,he added.
