Tunisia- Afek Tounes calls for an urgent meeting of the National Security Council

Afek Tounes condemned the state of severe division and dispute of jurisdiction between the two heads of the executive power during the battle against the Coronavirus which generated chaos, confusion and lack of dose of vaccines, oxygen and resuscitation beds.

The party additionally called for putting first the national interest and concentrating solely on the war against the Coronavirus within a framework of unity, coordination and integration between various state institutions and agencies. In addition, it called for an urgent meeting of the National Security Council to examine the development of a comprehensive national strategy to deal with the pandemic.

Likewise, Afek Tounes stressed the necessity to show wisdom, patriotism, responsibility and competence in order to achieve tangible results on the ground including controlling the spread of the pandemic and the vaccination of 6 million citizens before the commencement of the school year to secure a return to normal life and overcome the health and socio-economic repercussions of the pandemic.
