Today, Thursday, September 14, 2023, the Bardo National Museum reopened its doors to the public after a two-year closure, after the completion of renovation works.
Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the director of the museum, Fatma Naït Yghil, explained that this renovation work had been scheduled for some time.
Our speaker recalled that the museum was initially a palace while stressing that the maintenance work had been carried out in accordance with world standards.
This involved the restoration of mosaics, sculptures, manuscripts and the Islamic section, as well as the Blue Quran Hall, considered of significant historical and universal importance.
She remarked that this work was carried out in close cooperation with the Raqqada Museum.
