The Tunisian Women for Research on Development Association (French: AFTURD) denounced sexual violence crimes and all sorts of brutality and harassment targeting children, both inside schools and public and virtual spaces, and women.
The AFTURD requested on the concerned officials to implement Law No. 58 of 2017 on the elimination of violence against women, considering that every person indicted of a committing a sexual crime must be condemned and be subject to the law.
Additionally, the association also highlighted the necessity to take statements or suspicion of sexual violence against a child gravely to convict the guilty ones and guarantee the psychological and social aid to the victims.
The AFTURD further called for the implementation of programmes based on increasing awareness and comprehensive protection of children against all forms of violence in public and private spaces.
