Tunisia-Ahmed Ounaiess: “Recognition of State of Palestine by European countries is of great importance” [Video]

The initiative of the three countries, Ireland, Spain, and Norway, to recognize the State of Palestine is of significant importance, because for the first time, the European fortress has turned into an arena of conflict over Palestinian rights, former diplomat Ahmed Ounaiess told Tunisie Numérique.

Ounaiess added that the Palestinian state has become the subject of diplomatic controversy, not only in the globe as a whole but also within the citadel of the European Union, forming actual diplomatic questions within it.

Our speaker also emphasised that this step is considered a great win for the Palestinian cause and an end to its isolation, and would push the rest of the countries, particularly within NATO, to make decisions that will certainly have an important impact in the coming period.
