Tunisia- Air Force flies to the aid of burning forests

The Defense Ministry confirmed that the Air Force has conducted 63 interventions to extinguish blazes in the past four days.

 

The regions of Mont Zaghdoud (Kairouan), Mont Takrouna (Kef), the region of Sejnane, Faj Hassne, Ghardimaou and Mont Dissa (Jendouba) in addition to the forest of Rimel of Bizerte have observed large fires which prompted huge damage.

 

In order to achieve the wanted efficiency and anticipation, the Army has assigned command elements into the field as part of better activation of the operation of the regional committees to combat natural disasters. The ministry adds that military units and officials will take part in evaluating and coordinating with the rest of the stakeholders on the most effective and suitable means to respond to and deal with these fires.
