The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation revealed yesterday the designation of Alessandro Prunas new Italian ambassador to Tunisia.
“I will work with enthusiasm so that the alliance between Rome and Tunis can develop and strengthen. A challenge and a commitment for Italy and its Country System, for the historic friendship that links us to Tunisia and for our resident community,” said Alessandro Prunas.
Alessandro Prunas graduated in political science from the University of Florence in 1995. Following a competitive examination, on December 29, 2000, Prunas was designated probationary legation secretary in his diplomatic career.
In 2002, he acted as consul in Durban, South Africa. In 2022, he returned to Rome to take up the position of Head of International Institutional Affairs at Fincantieri. Prunas was named Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2013.
