Director General of the Algerian Company Sonelgaz, Mourad Ajjal declared the project to export electricity to Italy is currently under study in collaboration with Italian partners. The goal is to find funding for the installation of a cable linking Algeria to Italy.
In this context, Ajjal confirmed that Algeria exports, for years, electricity to Tunisia and Libya and that about 500 megawatts are exported abroad.
Concerning the company’s projects, he assured that Sonelgaz is preparing to provide Tunisia with electricity, in response to the request it made.
