Tunisia: All negotiations with unions now require authorization from Kasbah

Prime minister Najla Bouden called on ministers, directors-general, directors and officials of the civil service and the public sector to return to the presidency of the government to start any conversation with the union parties.

The circular mentioned by Mosaïque FM, in fact, invite the aforementioned officials to acquire the approval of the Kasbah through its secretariat in order to be capable to initiate these negotiations.

According to the same source, Najla Bouden rejected a circular issued during the time of former head of government Mehdi Jomaa that allows officials to freely enter into negotiations.

This new measure comes within the framework of the budgetary limitations that the government wants to inflict in order to rationalize public spending.
