The Ministry of Health declared that 62 children from Kebili governorate and 17 others from Gafsa governorate between the ages of 15 and 17 were vaccinated with concentrated doses of Pfizer during the 3rd national vaccination day that was held on August 29. 2021.
As such, the Ministry of Health reassured that this operation professes no danger to the health of immunized minors. It added that the national pharmacovigilance centre has been notified to pursue the matter closely locally and regionally. It pointed out that after a week of constant monitoring of the children’s condition, no severe symptoms were registered, emphasising in the same setting that the side effects that have appeared are considered normal.
According to the ministry, the vaccinated children have been placed under intensive medical supervision and procedures have been set in place to prevent such incidents in the future.
