Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the president of the Association of Magistrates (AMT), Anas Hmaidi said that he expects the existence of pressures which are currently exercised on certain magistrates to integrate the Superior Council of the Judiciary provisional and surrender to the “reforms” that the President of the Republic plans to carry out.
He called on them to adhere to the decisions taken by the General Assembly of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM). “They must reject Presidential Decree No. 11 on the creation of a provisional body,” Hmaidi added.
The president of the AMT emphasised the constitutionality of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM) considering that the Head of State does not hold the right to dissolve it.
