Tunisia – Anouar Maârouf auditioned for breaking house arrest

The attorney for former transport minister, Anouar Maârouf, confirmed on Thursday that her client was questioned this morning by the police for having broken the rules of house arrest. She revealed that he had gone out yesterday, as usual, to run, within the perimeter of his home, and that he had never been worried regarding this activity.

She added that upon his return residence, he found the police outside his house, to present him with a summons for a hearing. At the time of his hearing this morning, Maârouf revealed that he had until now no official decision for his house arrest has been sent so that he does not know what he has the right to do and what is prohibited to him.

He added that according to the last decision of the administrative court, he is permitted to circulate within a radius of 60 km around his home, and to exceed this perimeter, he had to ask for permission.
