Tunisia – Arrest of a grocer for speculation and illegal price increases

The economic control teams of the Regional Directorate of Trade and Export Development in Sidi Bouzid, in coordination with the municipal police, apprehended, today Thursday, January 11, 2024, a grocer, who was selling 20 kg bags of semolina, at 25 dinars, to certain individuals, notably fast food restaurants, instead of the legal price of 12,900 dinars.

Quantities of semolina estimated at 1 ton were also seized, in addition to the issuance of 06 economic fines and an economic investigation report, for illegal price increases.
