Tunisia – Arrest of Maher Zid and another deputy: it has only just begun!
Security sources have confirmed the detention of MP Maher Zid who is on trial in an earlier case.
In addition, another deputy was placed on provisional detention after being interrogated at the Aouina barracks in relationship with the case of the transport of phosphates.
According to sources from TunisieNumérique, this campaign of arrests has only just started.It follows the lifting of parliamentary immunity for Members of Parliament and it seems like the arrests are going to affect all MPs who have judgments and court cases pending or even blocked.
