Tunisia – Arrest of Mornag mayor

The president of the National Federation of Mayors, Adnene Bouassida, revealed the arrest of Mornag mayor Amor Harbaoui, against the backdrop of the suicide of a travelling merchant after the municipal police people seized his electronic scale.

Bouassida confirmed that this arrest is abusive and that the law authorizes, and obliges mayors to implement the law, and this is what the mayor of Mornag did by applying the ban on anarchic displays around the municipal market.

Bouassida deplored that the mayor of Mornag was apprehended despite his status, and his advanced age (68 years old).
