Tunisia-Arrest of Noureddine Bhiri: reaction of the Presidency of Parliament

Commenting on the detention of the deputy and former chairman of the Ennahdha Movement bloc, the Presidency of Parliament condemned the manner in which the arrest was carried, saying that it constitutes a flagrant violation of the law. The same source added that Noureddine Bhiri’s wife was attacked, claiming that her phone was seized.

The parliament presidency has condemned these practices, saying that taking legal action against parliamentary representatives and politicians will not mask the failure to fix the problems facing the country. This dangerous deviation will additionally encourage the parties concerned to sacrifice in defence of justice and democracy, adds the same source.
