Tunisia – Arrest of several young people from Ettadhamen and El Mnihla after violent clashes

The prosecution at the Ariana Court of First Instance authorized, yesterday evening, the arrest of fifteen young men, following new acts of violence and conflicts between young people in the Ettadhamen and El Mnihla neighbourhoods.

Note that incidents and clashes took place in the region the day before yesterday, Saturday, and continued until the early hours of dawn, while large groups of young people exchanged violence and threw rocks, and during the battle, they employed various types of projectiles, bladed weapons and batons. This caused wounds of varying severity among the participants in the battle, as well as the breaking of car windows and commercial and residential windows, and sowed terror among the residents, so it was decided to keep in custody 22 young individuals while awaiting the inquiry.

According to available data, clashes resumed yesterday evening between several young people and the violence continued, which required the arrest of fifteen other young people.
