Tunisia – Arrest of the wife of the leader of international drug trafficking gang

The first investigating judge at the Court of First Instance of Tunis issued, today, Friday, November 17, 2023, an arrest warrant against the wife of the head of a dangerous international drug trafficking network recently dismantled after seizing enormous quantities of jewellery, cocaine and large sums of money amounting to about half a billion millimes.

The inquiry into the dangerous international network dismantled by agents of the anti-narcotics sub-directorate of the judicial police indicated the involvement of the wife of the head of the network in communication with other networks located inside the country, and that she is responsible for moving drugs from abroad and receiving, transporting and delivering the funds to her husband.

According to the same data, the investigation showed that the head of this international network is an employee of a public company and that he owns, with his wife, an ice plant, four luxury villas between La Goulette and Gammarth and five luxury cars, all of which were seized pending further investigation.
