Tunisia – Arrest of two inspectors from Ministry of Finance

The public prosecutor at the Tunis Court of First Instance allowed agents of the national unit responsible for investigating Al-Gorjani’s complex financial crimes to incarcerate two executives at the Ministry of Finance.

According to available data, the Public Prosecutor’s Office authorized agents of the National Unit to Investigate Complex Financial Crimes of Al-Gorjani to initiate the required inquiries concerning the suspected involvement of two officials with the rank of “central inspector” of the Ministry of Finance who operates in one of the general directorates of the ministry, in cases of exploitation of his position by a public official, to obtain an unjustified advantage for himself or for others, and to harm to administration, fraud, use of a fraudulent person and acceptance of gifts and gifts by a public official.
