The feminist association “Aswat Nissa” called on the President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, to ensure respect for the constitution and the elimination of all forms of inequality and discrimination against women, including estate matters.
Aswat Nissa recalled that Tunisia had ratified the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
The association denounced, in the same perspective, the declaration made by the President of the Republic on the occasion of the celebration of the National Women’s Day, in which he affirms that the Quran provisions in matters of succession are clear and do not leave room for several possible interpretations.
