In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, the Director of the National Observatory for Supply at the Ministry of Commerce, Ramzi Trabelsi, expressed today that the first imported shipment of bananas arrived in Tunisia and contained 200 tons.
Trabelsi added that the markets are being supplied consecutively and daily in quantities assessed at 100 tons so that one kilogram of bananas is sold for 5 dinars.
The same source noted that the bananas supplied are of high quality, and will be available in distribution routes and main commercial spaces on Thursday or Friday at the latest.
