Members of the Tunisian Association of Democratic Women have been threatened with rape by supporters of the Al Karama Coalition, president of the Tunisian Association of Democratic Women (ATFD), Yosra Faraoues told Mosaique FM.
In reaction to the statements of the deputy of Al Karama, Mohamed Affes, the president of the ATFD concluded that this coalition intends to break Tunisians while adding that some parties have opened the doors of parliament to the Al Karama Coalition and that members of the ATFD have been threatened with rape by supporters of this Coalition.
During an intervention, Thursday, December 3, 2020, in the presence of the Minister of Women, Family and the Elderly, Imen Zahouani, Mohamed Affes held a speech loaded with hatred and disdain against Tunisian women.
The deputy struck the laws that protect women and the values of the Republic; he attacked the defenders of women’s freedom and its achievements, the modernists.
Meanwhile, the Tunisian Association of Democratic Women condemned the MP’s words and “the complicity of plenary chairman Tarak Fetiti” for not stopping him while he was spouting his attacks on women.
