Tunisia-Attacks on journalists fell in August

The number of journalists, victims of physical assaults fell sharply in August 2020 compared to July, from 15 to 12, recorded on Friday the Monitoring Unit of The National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) in its latest report. “The attacks were committed against 13 journalists (3 men and 10 women) operating in 10 public and private media,” said the Monitoring Unit.
In this regard, the unit cited 4 radio stations, 3 television channels, 2 electronic sites and 1 newspaper.
In this report drawn up with the assistance of Unesco and posted online this Friday on the SNJT page, the Monitoring Unit denounces the continued attacks against journalists, warning against greater violence on the web and social networks.
According to the same report, the attacks were carried out mainly in Tunis (7 cases), Mahdia (2), Gafsa (1), Kairouan (1) and Kasserine (1)
