Tahya Tounes MP Mabrouk Kourchid firmly condemned what some designate as “parliamentary diplomacy”. Particularly since this term is illegal in the House of People’s Representatives “HPR” bureau official texts.
In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, he stressed that this word and this false diplomacy have no legal presence. Adding that the sole diplomacy recognized in the constitution is the one exercised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the responsibility of the head of the state.
He explained in the same context, that you can’t constitute something wrong nor exercise wrong duties and legislate them under the name of parliamentary diplomacy. He clarified that house speaker can have contacts with his counterparts in other countries without calling the act as diplomacy unless he is mandated by the President of the Republic to replace him with some authority.
Commenting on a power authority between the presidency and the parliament presidency, he said that Tunisia is a state and not a three-headed dragon.
He further affirmed the country has begun a phase of chaos, particularly when the different protagonists refuse to recognize the limits of the prerogatives of each.
